The Yanaguana Trail at Mission San Juan capistrano

In 1731 the spanish established a self-sustaining Mission, that included a stone church, friary and Granary. The San Juan Mission also had its very own indian arisans who would produce iron tools, clothes and hides. Once on the mission grounds there is a trail to the west of the mission that leads to a wooded area. Here you can walk along the boardwalk and look out onto a portion of the San Antonio river. While I was here me, along with a few friends of mine, enjoyed walking amongst the trees and the serene river. It was nice to see a part of San Antonio not overtaken by the city life. We even went off the trail and went into the woods along the river. We probably were not suppose to but the chance was too good to pass up. So we walked along the river and sat along the banks for a bit. I could not help but feel at peace in a place as beutiful as this.
